HUNTINBURG, IN - A Huntingburg man is killed in a crash involving a semi-tractor trailer this Friday afternoon.
It happened at US 231 and 19th Street in Huntingburg.
State police say a semi traveling south on US 231 approaching 19th Street tried to stop when the traffic light turned red, but when he stepped on the brakes, the truck veered into on-coming traffic, hitting a Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on.
The driver of the jeep, 49-year-old Terry Siebe was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger was taken to St. Mary's with head and upper body injuries.
The driver of the semi was uninjured. He was cited for traveling left of center and for not having his record of duty status or log book up to date.
