HENDERSON, KY - Work has begun on a project that will make Watson Lane in Henderson wider. Construction began Monday on Watson Lane west of US 41 on the Henderson Strip.
Before the road gets wider though, workers will make the road narrow. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd said each lane of Watson will be restricted to a 9 foot maximum from US 41 to Elm Street. He said the restriction allows crews to excavate for widening the road and put in drainage structures.
Todd said the work will not impact traffic on US 41, but did ask that drivers avoid using Watson Lane west of the highway. He said it will keep workers safe and keep the project on schedule.
Todd said the project is expected to be completed by the beginning of June.
