MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) - An eastern Kentucky woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison in the shooting death of her husband.
Special Judge Janet Coleman sentenced 58-year-old Pam Bartley of Montgomery County on Tuesday. She was found guilty in December in Rowan County of second-degree manslaughter for the 2007 death of Carl Bartley.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Bartley will be eligible for parole in 19 months.
Carl Bartley was found shot in the head in the garage of the couple's Jeffersonville, Ky., home.
Defense lawyer Grover Carrington asked that bond be set pending an appeal of the conviction. Coleman set it at $1 million cash.
The trial was moved from Mount Sterling to Morehead because a jury could not be seated.
