WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal regulators closed Friday the Independent Bankers' Bank, based in Springfield, Ill. Independent Bankers' is a sort of wholesale bank that provided services to 450 client banks in four states - with $585.5 million in assets and $511.5 million in deposits.
For Independent Bankers' Bank, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation set up a temporary "bridge bank," which the agency will operate as it continues to seek a buyer.
Independent Bankers' Bank was the 21st bank in Illinois to fail this year.
