HOPKINS CO., KY - Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal three-vehicle accident Friday night on the Pennyrile Parkway, just south of Madisonville. Hopkins County Coroner, Dennis Mayfield says 55-year-old Frank Russell of Cadiz, Ky. died in the crash after his vehicle caught fire.
Sgt. Jason Newby of the Kentucky State Police says it is likely the fire was caused by the impact involving Russell's truck, a car and a tanker. The other two drivers were taken to Madisonville Regional Hospital for treatment.
The accident had the southbound lanes of the Pennyrile close for nearly five hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
Kentucky State Police say the accident is under investigation.

HOPKINS CO., KY - NEWS 25 is on the scene of a fatal accident in Hopkins County.
The accident is on the Pennyrile Parkway, just south of Madisonville and the western Kentucky parkway, near the Nortonville exit.
County coroner, Dennis Mayfield tells NEWS 25 one person died in the accident involving a car, pick-up truck, and a tanker.
That person has not yet been identified.
The Pennyrile Parkway southbound lanes are shutdown to traffic.

The Chief of South Hopkins Fire Department tells us southbound Pennyrile Parkway has been closed at the 33 mile marker and the accident involves a tanker and other vehicles.
