KNOX CO., IN - Indiana State Police said they arrested two people in Knox County after a search warrant turned up a meth lab.

ISP said troopers went to the home of 38-year-old Tempa Hinkle, located on Dutch Hinkle Road near Monroe City, after getting a complaint about illegal drug activity going on there.  When they arrived, troopers reported seeing items in a burn pile in the driveway that led them to believe some sort of drug activity was going on.

ISP said no one was home at the time so troopers waited until about 4:00 p.m. Monday, when they said Hinkle and 38-year-old Michael Wilson approached the home. Troopers said the two tried to flee in their vehicle when they saw troopers.

As troopers were chasing the suspects, ISP said troopers saw them throw out several items. They said the items included five plastic bags of marijuana and a box of pseudeophedrine.

Police said the vehicle eventually stopped down the road. They said both suspects were arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail.

State Police said troopers later obtained a search warrant and found a meth lab along with a small amount of the drug inside Hinkle's home. They also reported finding marijuana in the woman's bedroom.

ISP said Hinkle and Wilson both face charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug precursors.
