Underwater camera used in search for woman's body

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (AP) - Northern Indiana authorities are using an underwater camera in their search for the body of a woman allegedly murdered by her former husband.

Last weekend, officials halted a widespread search for the body of 49-year-old Debra Houser of Columbia City, who was reported missing Nov. 18.

But Wednesday, Whitley County sheriff's deputies used a boat equipped with an underwater camera to scour Larwill and Goose lakes about 20 miles west of Fort Wayne for her body.

Houser's ex-husband, 43-year-old Rodney Houser, has been charged with her murder.

According to court documents, he reportedly asked a friend to help hide her body.

Indiana State Police and state conservation officers are expected to deploy boats rigged with sonar on local lakes next week to help in the search.
