OWENSBORO - An Owensboro EMT with the Yellow Ambulance Service was arrested when he stole $700 from a patient who was really working undercover with Owensboro Police.

David M. Herron of Corydon, Kentucky was the subject of the undercover operation that was set up after the Yellow Ambulance Service contacted police saying they had a potential problem with him.

Owensboro police set up a fabricated run involving a bed ridden subject that had fallen and could not get back into bed. Hidden cameras and listening devices were placed in the room and Herron was caught steeling $700 of $800 that was in the alleged victim's wallet, placed on the coffee table.

Herron was arrested upon returning to Yellow Ambulance Service's headquarters immediately after the fabricated call. He was taken into custody and the $700 was recovered.

Herron was booked on a $10,000 bond at the Daviess County Jail and charged with theft. Police say Herron will face additional charges.
