TRI-STATE - Long lines and wait times are a thing of the past. H1N1 clinics are dwindling down from the massive turnout just a few weeks ago.
Since the vaccinations began, there have only been clinics for the high-risk population. That could soon change.
Warrick County will open a clinic from 1-6 p.m. for adults 25-64 on Tuesday, November 17 at the Old Courthouse in Boonville. “We’re anticipating more supplies, so we should have enough vaccinations for our residents,” says Frank Hijuelos, Coordinator, Warrick County Health Department.
Over 10,000 people in Vanderburgh County have been inoculated in the tier one group. There have already been clinics that focused on pregnant women or just young kids – those sub tiers have all been targeted several times.
As far as a clinic for other adults, "We’re making progress. We really have to sit down and look at what the clinic looks like next week and start to talk about a timeline," says Chris Allen, Vanderburgh County Health Department.
Health workers will begin delivering vaccinations to some physicians and long-term care facilities in the coming weeks.
"It makes us feel really good like we're getting some traction on this," Allen adds.
