HENDERSON CO., KY - NEWS 25 has learned new details about the two vehicle accident that backed up traffic for hundreds of cars along Highway 60 near Corydon, KY.

Henderson County Sheriff's deputies tell NEWS 25 a car heading west on US 60, driven by 47-year-old James Cook, was attempting to pass two cars. As the driver tried to come back into his lane, he sideswiped an oncoming semi, being driven by 46-year-old David Cooper.

Cook was transported to Methodist ER with head and back pains. Cooper was transported with neck pains and has been released.

The roadway was shutdown for approximately three hours for investigation and clean-up.

HENDERSON CO., KY - NEWS 25 has learned more about the accident that has backed hundreds of cars along Highway 60 near Corydon, KY.

Henderson County Sheriff's deputies told NEWS 25 a car heading west on 60 was attempting to pass two cars.  As the driver tried to come back into his lane, he sideswiped an oncoming semi.

The driver of the car was hospitalized.  His identity and the extent of his injuries were not available.  The driver of the semi was unharmed, but Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement was called to the scene to determine whether the semi could continue to drive.

Our crew on the scene said cars in both directions were backed up for an estimated mile or so as investigators worked the scene of the accident.

It happened along 60, near Corydon, KY.  Both lanes of traffic have been shut down as Henderson County Sheriff's deputies investigate the accident.
