GREENSBURG, Ind. (AP) - A longtime Republican state legislator from southeastern Indiana has decided to not seek re-election next year.

Rep. Cleo Duncan of Greensburg announced Monday that she would leave the Indiana House when her term ends next November in order to spend more time with her family and pursue other interests.

Duncan was first elected in 1994 and currently represents District 67, which includes all of Decatur County and parts of Franklin, Ripley and Rush counties. She is a former chairwoman of the House transportation committee and was a member of the Greensburg City Council before her election to the Legislature.

Duncan won re-election in 2008 with nearly 66 percent of the vote in the heavily Republican district. Democrats currently hold a 52-48 House majority.
