
MONROE CITY, IN – A Monroe City couple face various drug charges and neglect of a dependent after Indiana State Police responded to a complaint of illegal drug activity at the home of 38-year-old-old Troy Dafron and 31-year-old Miranda Dafron on106 East 11th Street.
Troopers say the couple was present when police entered a nearby pole barn and detected a strong chemical odor associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Inside the barn police discovered numerous meth making materials, meth and a small amount of marijuana.
When troopers searched the residence they found more meth, drug paraphernalia, a .380 caliber handgun and a recipe to manufacture meth.
The Dafron’s four children, ages ranging from 9 months to 9 years, were taken into protective custody by Knox County Child Protective Services.
Both were arrested and held on charges Neglect of a Dependant, Manufacturing Meth over 3 grams, Possession of Meth with a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana under 30 grams and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
