JASPER, IN - Two men have been indicted on federal charges of hacking into a Jasper company's computer.
The U.S. Department of Justice said 45-year-old Scott Burgess, of Jasper, IN, and 39-year-old Walter Puckett of Williamstown, KY were indicted Thursday for computer intrusion.
Prosecutors said the indictment alleges that Burgess and Puckett accessed the Stens Corporation computer systems, based in Jasper, IN, from various places on about 12 different occasions without authorization. The indictment alleges the men accessed the systems for commercial and personal financial benefit. Stens deals industrial parts to a variety of businesses.
Prosecutors said the two men face a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if found guilty.
