Police Look For Human Remains at a Pike County Home

PIKE CO., IN - NEWS 25 learns authorities are searching the home of a Pike County man for possible "human remains."

Through documents obtained by NEWS 25, a search warrant was issued for the home of 46-year-old Kerry Thomas on Sunday to look for human remains and DNA.  The home is in the 6400 block of South Meridian Road, Oakland City, IN.

During the search, authorities said they found homemade explosives. In a report from the Pike County Sheriff's Department, a witness told detectives that Thomas intended on using a bomb to blow up the Pike County Circuit courtroom if found guilty of several different charges. Thomas was scheduled to be in court today for intimidation, battery, and criminal confinement charges, as well as three counts of possession of a machine gun and pointing a firearm at police officers.

Court documents show Thomas faces new charges of unlawful possession of a destructive device with the intent to kill, a Class “A” felony, and unlawful possession of a destructive device, a Class “C” felony.
