HOPKINS CO., KY - An Evansville man is behind bars in Kentucky after police say he caused an accident while driving drunk with his four-month-old daughter.
Kentucky State Police said the accident happened just after 8:00 p.m. Sunday in Earlington, KY.
Troopers said 33-year-old Andrew J. Allen, of Evansville, was headed south on East Farren Street when he went off the road and hit a curb. They said Allen ran over a street sign and continued into the intersection of South Lee Trover Todd Highway, where he crashed into a van driven by 67-year-old Nancy Stevens. Troopers said Allen hit the driver's side of the van, causing it to turn over on the passenger's side in the middle of the highway.
KSP reported Stevens and her 14-year-old passenger were both trapped until emergency responders arrived. Both were taken to the Regional Medical Center. They said Allen and his four-month-old daughter were unhurt in the wreck.
State Police said Allen was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and three counts of wanton endangerment.
