HENDERSON - Halloween is a night when many people thrive on being spooked and haunted. But Halloween or not one group investigates the 'unexplainable' right here in the tri-state.

The paranormal investigators of Henderson, Kentucky were at Ellis Park this Halloween night. The non-profit group travels around to different locations investigating unexplainable activity.

"Everything is based on theory regardless whether it be evidence, opinion based. The ones are everywhere. You find them on the internet, you can find them by anybody you talk to whether they believe or disbelieve," said Paranormal Investigator Richard Hicks.

"We don't claim to be professionals or experts. There is no experts or professionals in this field. We will gather as much information, data, evidence as we can. It's pretty much up to the property owner to decide what that means," Billy Halpin Paranormal Investigator of Henderson KY said.

While considering themselves just as much of support group as an investigative one, the paranormal investigators of Henderson Kentucky is out to help explain the unexplainable. Whether it is at your home or on a property the group members gather evidence and launch a full investigation.

"We go and try to find the truth about activity that may be happening," Halpin said. "We want to find out if they are really haunted or not."

Investigating over 20 locations over the past three years, Halpin says they use tools like lighting, looking for unexplained shadows. Along with specialized audio tools, able to pick-up noises not audible to the human ear.

"We basically gather the information to share with whoever contacted us, the client, the general public. To let them make their assumptions on what it is," Jamie Woods Paranormal Investigator said.

"I would say I'm one of my biggest critics. I like to scrutinize everything," said Hicks. "It really takes a certain caliber of person to withstand and make it in a paranormal group. It's not easy."

It's a hobby for the group's dozens members but it's more like a full-time job, spending hour after hour going over evidence gathered.

"Because there's so many ways to explain off evidence, if you put the time into it and effort into it you can explain 90 percent of the evidence. It's that one 10 percent that you can't come up with an explanation for. That's the truth we're searching for" Hicks said.

Clients must be interviewed before an investigation can begin, but the group's services could be offered to you if your claims prove to be viable.

"A lot of them are probably experiencing something and just the sense of knowing that they're not crazy, that someone actually sees what they see regardless if it's paranormal or not. It believe it gives them a little piece of comfort," Halpin said.

NEWS 25 crews are staying here tonight and you will be able to find raw footage of the investigation on our website tomorrow.
