SALINE CO., IL - NEWS 25 learns the remaining three children of Terry Lay & Amanda Brooks are now up for adoption.
Vanderburgh County Deputy Prosecutor Jonathan Parkhurst told us a judge in Saline County, Illinois terminated Terry Lay's parental rights to his remaining children.
Amanda Brooks surrendered her parental rights in June after pleading guilty to neglect in connection with the death of her three-year-old son, Kalab Lay.
A Saline County judge severed Terry Lay's parental rights on Tuesday, the same day he was sentenced in Clark County, IN to 100 years in prison for reckless homicide.
Parkhurst told us the three children are under the guardianship of the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services. He said the children are in "a safe and stable environment and thriving." He said the children are now up for adoption.
