EVANSVILLE - An Evansville man has been sentenced to over 12 years in prison for robbing an Evansville bank in March.
The U.S. Department of Justice said 52-year-old Ronald Komonce was sentenced late Monday to 151 months in prison after pleading guilty to bank robbery charges.
Prosecutors said Komonce admitted to robbing the Integra Bank at 1718 Fares Avenue on March 13, 2009. Police said he showed bank tellers a handgun and demanded money. They said Komonce fled from the bank after getting $13,480.
Prosecutors said authorities were able to track the bank robber from witness statements.
After he was captured, authorities said Komonce admitted to robbing the bank.
