VINCENNES, IN - Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will be in Vincennes, IN Tuesday morning to kick off a two-day tour of the Tri-State.
Governor Daniels will be at the Schott production plant at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday to announce the expansion of its specialty glass manufacturing operations. Company officials said they are expanding the plant to make transparent armored windows for new military all-terrain vehicles designed specifically for Afghanistan. Officials expect more than 100 new jobs to be created over the next few months.
The governor will then make a stop in Jasper to talk about the state's economic future at the Jasper Rotary Club Leadership Luncheon.
Governor Daniels will wrap up the day by touring the Branchville Correctional Facility at 3:15 p.m. The governor's office said this is the first visit by a sitting governor to the medium-security prison since it was built in 1982.
On Wednesday, Governor Daniels is scheduled to talk about the current national economic climate at a Warrick County Chamber of Commerce breakfast event, before holding a question and answer session with economic students at the University Southern Indiana at 9:45 a.m.
