TRI-STATE - Heavy rain and flooding has caused several Tri-State roads to close Friday morning.

The Indiana Department of Transportation reports State Road 145 from State Road 64 (Birdseye) to Interstate 64 in Dubois & Perry counties is closed, along with State Road 62 from State Road 545 (St. Meinrad) to State Road 145 (Possum Junction) in Perry & Spencer counties.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports it has closed KY 1179 in Union County between KY 141 and the River View Mine.  Officials said heavy rain damaged a new drain in the area overnight forcing the road to close Friday morning.

PERRY CO., IN - Perry Central Schools are closed Friday morning because of high water concerns in the area.  A flash flooding warning is in effect for Perry County until 9:00 a.m. Friday.

It has been raining for the majority of the night and will continue through Friday afternoon.  Here is the amount of rain that has fallen in certain areas since 6:15 a.m. Thursday:

- Evansville = 2.65"
- Henderson = 3.95"
- Owensboro = 1.73"
- Carmi, IL = 2.28"
- Fairfield, IL = 2.33"

The National Weather Service has issued flood watches for the entire Tri-State, and flood warnings have been issued for Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Martin and Pike counties in Indiana and Clay, Richland, and Wabash counties in Illinois.  Along with Perry County, a flash flood warning has been issued for Dubois County.  You can find the latest warnings and weather updates on our weather page.

We have been on the phone Friday morning with dispatchers throughout the Tri-State. They told us there have been no major flooding problems so far.  They said the places that normally flood are probably seeing some high water.
