WARRICK CO., IN - The Warrick County Sheriff's Office said at least one person was killed in a Tuesday morning crash on Interstate 64.

The Sheriff's Office said the accident happened around 5:45 a.m. on I-64 at the 30 mile marker.

Deputies said 59-year-old Victor Striegel, of Jasper, IN, was driving a construction crane truck west on I-64 when he was hit in the back by a car driven by 41-year-old Elizabeth Piper, of Tobinsport, IN.

The Sheriff's Office said a passenger in the back seat of Piper's vehicle, 37-year-old Glenn E. Vaal, of St. Meinrad, IN, died a short time after the crash.

They said Piper and a front seat passenger, 51-year-old Barbara Matthews, of Ferdinand, IN, were both taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.  Authorities did not know the extent of their injuries at the time of this posting.

The Sheriff's Office said Piper and her two passengers were on their way to work at the Princeton Toyota plant.

Deputies said there is no reason to believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the wreck, but they are still investigating.
