Sheriff's Deputies Searching For Driver in Apparent Hit-&-Run

GIBSON CO., IN - Gibson County Sheriff's Deputies are still looking for the person responsible for a hit and run that killed a Fransico, Indiana man.

Deputies tell NEWS 25 the dispatchers received a call just before five yesterday about a body lying in the road. It happened on County Road 700 South about 1.5 miles east of Mackey, IN.

That man has been identified as 23-year-old "Bo-Regard" Thomas.

Deputies say they believe Thomas was hit and dragged at least 100 feet. Thomas had recently left a friend's house in Mackey.

GIBSON CO., IN - Gibson County Sheriff's Detectives are investigating the death of a Fransico Indiana man who's body was found sometime before 5 a.m. Saturday on CR 700 S., about 1.5 miles east of Mackey, IN. Investigators have identified the body as 23-year-old Beauregard Thomas.

Sheriff's say it appears as if Thomas was hit by a vehicle and then dragged underneath it for approximately 100 feet.

An autopsy was scheduled Saturday to determine the exact cause of death.

Sheriffs are asking anyone who saw the individual walking on CR 700 S., East of Mackey, to call the sheriff's Department at (812) -385-3496.
