OHIO CO., KY - A Kentucky man faces assault charges for shooting at a man he thought was stealing his chickens.
The Ohio County Sheriff's Department said 22-year-old James Sutherland Jr. was arrested Sunday night.
Deputies reported Sutherland shot at 43-year-old Mark Adams around 9:45 p.m. on Water Street in Cromwell, KY.
According to deputies, Adams said he had stopped on the side of the road for a minute and was just about to leave when he heard two shots. The Sheriff's Department said Adams and his truck were hit with pellets, but the man was not hurt.
Sutherland told deputies he thought Adams was trying to steal chickens from his yard.
They said Sutherland was taken to the Ohio County Jail and charged with assault and wanton endangerment.
