
WASHINGTON, IN - A Washington man is in an Evansville hospital recovering from a weekend stabbing.
Washington Police said the man was stabbed early Saturday morning. Police said they got a call around 1:54 a.m. about a fight involving three men outside the Antique Tavern on Main Street. Officers said the victim was found near the Old National Bank Depot on SE 2nd Street. They said the man had been stabbed in the back and stomach.
Authorities reported the victim was taken to the Daviess Community Hospital before going to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for surgery. According to police, the man was listed in serious condition late Sunday night.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim or the other suspects involved. Police are still investigating and would like anyone with information regarding the stabbing to call the Washington Police Department at (812) 254-4410.
